UPDATE: Occupation forces raid Hospital in Tubas, detain five medical personnel

TUBAS, December 3, 2024 (WAFA) –Israeli forces Tuesday raided the Tubas Turkish Government Hospital, and detained five medical personnel, including the general director of the hospital.

WAFA correspondent said the occupation forces surrounded the hospital, following a drone shelling that targeted a car at the entrance of Aqaba village earlier today, which resulted in the killing of two Palestinians. A third resident was also injured in the drone attack.

Forces raided the hospital and detained five medical personnel, including the general director of the hospital, Mohammed Samara.

Haitham Hidri, Director General of hospitals at the Palestinian Ministry of Health said Israeli forces took control of the first floor of the Hospital and brutally assaulted Mohammad Ghannam, the head of the emergency department, in front of patients.

Israeli forces also shot a patient inside the hospital. The details of his injury remain unknown until the moment.

Hidri stressed that this attack is part of a broader pattern of targeted assaults on the Palestinian healthcare system.

He emphasized that the occupation's takeover of the first floor and the subsequent relocation of patients to other floors put their lives at stake.

This is not the first instance of Israeli forces' attacks on hospitals and medical personnel. During every military assault on Palestinian cities, the occupation forces besiege hospitals, hinder the work of medical teams and prevent them from fulfilling their duties.

The Ministry of Health stated that the World Health Organization has documented over 600 attacks on healthcare facilities and personnel in the West Bank and Gaza since October 7, 2023.

In late January 2024, Israeli special forces assassinated three young men inside Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin.
