Israeli colonists begin rehabilitating water spring in northern Jordan

JORDAN VALLEY, November, 20, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists began rehabilitating a water spring in the northern Jordan Valley on Wednesday.

The head of the Al-Maleh village council, Mahdi Daraghmeh, reported that a group of colonists began reclaiming a water spring in Umm al-Jimal, after seizing it about three months ago.

Two days ago, the occupation demolished several homes belonging to local residents in the said area, after they left it months ago, due to the escalation of colonist attacks. Later, colonists established a colonial outpost near those homes.

The area is witnessing a continuous presence of colonists, with fears of seizing the lands of the area.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, "there are colonies in Tubas and the northern Jordan Valley, and seven others on mountaintops."

According to the commission, since the beginning of 2024, colonists have committed more than 1,732 attacks on Palestinians.
