Israeli colonists attack Palestinian olive pickers near Salfit

SALFIT, November, 2, 2024 (WAFA) – Armed Israeli colonists today attacked Palestinian olive pickers in the occupied West Bank province of Salfit.

Yousef Al-Deek, a local farmer, said that Israeli colonists from an illegal colonial outpost built on citizens' lands near the town of Kafr Al-Deek attacked olive pickers in the Khalat Al-Haramiya area west of the town with shouting, cursing and threats, and tried to force them to leave their lands and prevent them from picking the olives.

Al-Deek pointed out that during the past week, the colonists stole 30 bags of olives and agricultural equipment, in addition to grazing their livestock among the trees and provoking farmers, in an attempt to prevent citizens from reaching their lands.

It is noteworthy that agricultural lands in the Salfit governorate are subjected to daily attacks by colonists and occupation forces, which escalated during the olive season in an attempt to force local residents to leave their lands.

During the annual olive harvest season, Palestinian lands are subjected to repeated attacks by colonists and the occupation army, and farmers constantly face obstacles and arbitrary practices that prevent them from accessing their lands, which leads to huge material losses and increases their daily suffering.
