Medical supplies to Kamal Adwan Hospital hit by Israeli bombing and completely destroyed, says UN

NEW YORK, October 31, 2024 (WAFA) UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric announced that medical supplies delivered to Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza five days ago were hit by Israeli airstrikes and have been completely destroyed.

In a press conference today, Dujarric stated that the Israeli blockade on northern Gaza remains ongoing. He added that search and rescue teams, along with medical staff, are unable to fulfill their duties due to the attacks on hospitals.

The spokesperson noted that hospitals in Gaza are striving to continue their operations despite the continuous Israeli bombardment.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli forces targeted the third floor of Kamal Adwan Hospital, causing significant damage and injuring four medical staff members with burns.

Medical sources reported that the attack specifically targeted the third floor, which contained the remaining medical supplies, resulting in substantial destruction.

Over 1,200 Palestinians have been killed in northern Gaza amidst ongoing acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing by the Israeli occupation army for nearly 27 days. Israeli forces have committed massacres and targeted shelters, homes, and hospitals in areas such as Beit Lahiya and Jabalia, leaving behind a trail of casualties and injuries.

Meanwhile, the healthcare system in the region remains overwhelmed due to the Israeli blockade and restrictions on medical supplies entering northern Gaza.
