RAMALLAH, October 21, 2024 (WAFA) – Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Hussein Al-Sheikh reiterated his rejection of any Israeli attempt to displace the Palestinian people from the northern Gaza Strip.

Al-Sheikh stressed during receiving the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Barbara Leaf today in Ramallah, and in the presence of the official spokesman for the presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the importance of reopening the crossings to allow the entry of humanitarian aid and the start of an urgent humanitarian relief operation for our people in the Strip.

The PLO official condemned the series of crimes and massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the northern Gaza Strip, and discussed with the US official the prospects of reaching a ceasefire agreement and the commitment to work within the framework of the political solution.

For her part, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs reaffirmed the US administration's commitment to the Tokyo Principles and support for the political track that supports stability and security in the region and leads to a two-state solution.
