Colonists storm archeological site near Hebron

HEBRON, October 21, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists Monday stormed the Carmel archaeological area in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, on to perform Talmudic rituals.

Activist Osama Makhamreh said that the occupation forces stormed the Carmel area in Yatta, climbed onto the roofs of nearby citizens' homes, and closed roads in front of citizens to secure the colonists' storming of the archaeological area to perform Talmudic rituals.

The Carmel area contains an archaeological pool that was used in the past to collect rainwater coming down from the mountains to irrigate crops and water livestock.

The Yatta Municipality established a park for the town's residents in the area.

The colonists, under the protection of the occupation army, exploit Jewish holidays to control the archaeological sites in the area, and perform Talmudic rituals there.
