NEW YORK, September 24, 2024 (WAFA) – Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Mustafa met separately with Irish Foreign Minister Michael Marte, Romanian Foreign Minister Lominica Odobescu, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Valdrack Whitaker, Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Rasmussen, and Bosnia and Herzegovina Foreign Minister Alemeddin Kunakovich, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meetings, Mustafa discussed advancing efforts to stop the war of extermination against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the escalation of the Israeli occupation aggression on the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and opening the crossings with the Gaza Strip to allow aid to enter and ensure its access to all parts of the Strip to meet urgent humanitarian needs, in addition to supporting efforts to obtain full membership in the United Nations.
Mustafa stressed the importance of implementing the UN General Assembly resolution based on the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice in order to end the occupation and embody the establishment of the Palestinian state.
During the meetings, the Prime Minister also discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation with the State of Palestine at the official and popular levels, calling on countries that have not recognized the State of Palestine to hasten to recognize it in order to support the two-state solution and embody the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
