Palestinian sustains injury in a colonists’ attack on Qalqiliya-Jericho Road

QALQILIYA, Saturday, August 31, 2024 (WAFA) – A Palestinian Saturday evening sustained an injury in a colonists’ attack on the road linking Qalqiliya to Jericho in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

They said that colonists hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles travelling on the Qalqiliya-Jericho Road, smashing the windshields of a vehicle and injuring the driver.

The driver sustained a fracture in his hand and was rushed to the Darwish Nazzal Government Hospital.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colonies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
