Occupation forces storm Jerusalem cultural center

JERUSALEM, Wednesday, August 07, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening stormed a cultural center in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and prevented the screening of a film on Gaza, according to eyewitnesses.

They said that police and intelligence officers stormed Yabous Cultural Center, which is at the heart of the musical and cultural scene in East Jerusalem, forced the attendees out and eventually sealed off the building, preventing the screening of a project on Gaza.

The center was slated in cooperation with Filmlab Palestine to screen Gaza’s Untold Stories from Ground Zero, organized by Palestinian filmmaker Rashid Mashharawi.

The project features 22 films, each telling a short story ranging from 3 to 6 minutes each, allowing for diverse perspectives and showcases various creative ideas, blending different genres and focusing on hidden and overlooked stories amid the ongoing genocide against Palestinian people.

The event came as Israel is proceeding with its genocidal offensive on the war-torn Strip in complete disregard of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), since October 7, killing at least 39,677 Palestinians and injuring over 91,645 others.
