NABLUS, Wednesday, August 7, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Wednesday demolished the building of Furush Beit Dajan village council, east of Nablus.
The head of the village council, Azem Haj Muhammad, told WAFA that the occupation forces, accompanied by a bulldozer, stormed the village and demolished the village council building, which was still under construction.
The building consists of two floors and has an area of 300 square meters, he said, adding that it was built with funding from the European Union.
Since the beginning of the Israeli comprehensive aggression against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in October 2023, and in parallel with the unprecedented destruction of homes, buildings and facilities in the Strip, the demolition of citizens' homes has escalated, especially in Area C, which is under full Israeli military control and constitutes about 60% of the West Bank.
During July, the occupation authorities carried out 98 demolition operations, affecting 135 facilities, including 62 inhabited homes, 14 uninhabited ones and 12 agricultural facilities.
They also issued notifications ordering the demolition of 16 other homes and facilities in the West Bank governorates, according to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission.
