RAMALLAH, Saturday, July 13, 2024 (WAFA) – The Presidency today held the Israeli government and the US administration fully responsible for the Israeli occupation’s horrific massacre in the Mawasi district of Khan Younis.

The Presidency said in a press statement that it condemned the massacre in a displaced people's camp in the Mawasi district of Khan Younis and held not only the Israeli government but also the US administration, which provides all forms of support to the Israeli occupation along with the crimes it commits, fully responsible for it.

It slammed the massacre as part of the Israeli occupation’s war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocidal war in violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

The Presidency added that while being aware that the occupation state does not need any justification and pretext for committing its crimes against the Palestinian people, the occupation makes use of any pretext to justify the genocidal crimes inflicts as self-defense.

Therefore, any party that offers pretexts to the Israeli occupation share the responsibility for the misfortunes and disasters that befall the Palestinians at the hands of the occupation.

Given Hamas’ evasion of national unity and offering pretexts to the occupation state, the Presidency considers that Hamas shares the legal, moral and political responsibility for the ongoing genocidal war against the Strip along with all ensuing suffering, destruction and killing.

It called on the Hamas movement to give precedence to the Palestinian supreme national interests and remove any pretext used by the occupation to stop this endless massacre.

It also called on the international community to take practical action to impose a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and save the lives of innocent civilians from the ravages of Israeli aggression.
