UPDATE: Israeli occupation forces demolish 17 homes in the West Bank, one in 1948 occupied land

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces today demolished 17 Palestinian-owned homes in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, and one more in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1948.

In the city of Jericho, the occupation demolished four houses east of the city, two of which occupy an area of 130 square meters, under the pretext that they were built without an Israeli-issued building permit.

Moving to the village of Bitello, west of Ramallah, the occupation bulldozers demolished a house owned by a local resident which consists of three floors, each of which occupies an area of 200 square meters.

Meanwhile, the occupation municipality demolished a house belonging to the Abu Subeih family in the Wadi Qaddoum neighborhood in the East Jerusalem town of Silwan.

The occupation army, accompanied by a bulldozer, broke into the city of Hebron, where they demolished eleven homes and other facilities in the Umm Al-Khair community in Masafer Yatta, south of the city.

In the city of Kafr Qara, within the 1948 occupied territories, Israeli bulldozers demolished a house that was still in the construction stage, under the same pretext.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the occupation authorities carried out 47 demolition operations affecting 66 facilities, including 35 inhabited homes, five uninhabited and 15 agricultural structures, in addition to other facilities in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Israel refuses to permit virtually any Palestinian construction in Area C, which constitutes 60 percent of the occupied West Bank and falls under full Israeli military rule, forcing residents to build without obtaining rarely-granted permits to provide shelters for their families.
