Prime Minister Mustafa briefs Swiss and Norwegian envoys on latest developments in Palestine

RAMALLAH, Monday, June 24, 2024 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa today briefed the Swiss envoy to the Middle East and North Africa, Wolfgang Amadeus Brulhart, and the Norway’s Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process Hilde Haraldstad, separately, on the latest developments in the Palestinian Territory,

This came in the presence of the representative of Switzerland to the State of Palestine, Anne-Lise Henin, and the representative of Norway to the State of Palestine, Torne Veste.

Mustafa stressed the necessity of continuing international pressure on Israel in order to stop its aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and to release the withholding Palestinian funds and stop all deductions from them.

He stressed that Israel's continued withholding of Palestinian funds threatens the government's ability to fulfill its obligations, and also places it in danger of collapse as a result of the deteriorating economic conditions due to the ongoing onslaught waged against the Palestinian people.

Regarding the government’s return to work in the Gaza Strip, Mustafa said: "We did not leave the Gaza Strip for a day. The government is responsible for providing all services in the Strip from the establishment of the National Authority until today through various ministries and bodies."

He further said that the government is the only body capable of managing the Gaza Strip. The priority today is to stop the aggression.
