Hospitals, health centers and only oxygen station in Gaza are at risk of suspending operations due to lack of fuel

GAZA, Wednesday, June 12, 2024 (WAFA) - Medical sources warned that hospitals, health centers and the only oxygen station in Gaza are at risk of suspending operations due to the lack of fuel, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and its full control and closure of all border crossings.

In a statement, the sources stressed that if operations are suspended, it would put at risk of death dozens of sick and injured people.

The statement noted that medicines stored in refrigerators will be damaged due to the lack of diesel fuel operating generators of the oxygen stations and refrigerators.

The medical sources appealed to all relevant international and humanitarian organizations to promptly intervene to acquire the necessary fuel, as well as electric generators and spare parts for maintenance.

The statement pointed out that dialysis services in the Gaza governorate are also threatened to run out of service due to the lack of fuel. The lack of fuel has also halted the movement of ambulances.

The death toll of the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 223, has risen to 37,164. Around 84,832 others have been wounded.
