UPDATE: Colonists set fire to agricultural land, house northwest of Nablus

NABLUS, Sunday, June 9, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli Colonists, backed by military forces, set fire this evening to agricultural land and a house owned by Palestinians in the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus, according to local sources.

Sources said that several colonists from the illegal Israeli colony of Homesh, near Nablus, threw burning tires at the homes and lands of citizens in multiple areas north of the village, setting ablaze agricultural land.

The colonists also stormed the outskirts of the village and attacked a house belonging to a Palestinian family with Molotov cocktails, setting parts of it on fire before villagers rushed to their aid and extinguished the fire.

Colonists have been attacking the village with burning tires and Molotov cocktails since the noon hours today, amid various attempts to attack residents’ homes located at the eastern and northern parts of the village.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their properties has dramatically increased since the onset of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people on October 7th, 2023.

The indiscriminate violence by Israeli colonists against Palestinian civilians, including the destruction of homes and properties, has been widely condemned.

Several countries have imposed sanctions against Israeli colonists accused of committing acts of violence against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.
