HEBRON, Saturday, June 8, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists today set ablaze large areas of agricultural land in the town of Tarqumiya, located west of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
Suleiman Jaafreh, a local activist, told WAFA that colonists burned down an agricultural room belonging to Abu Yasser Hamdan, a local resident, east of the town. The flames spread to large swathes of land planted with olive and grape trees.
Colonists had previously set fire to extensive areas of land in the same region on the 3rd of this month. At the time, Israeli occupation forces prevented residents from reaching the area to extinguish the blaze and arrested two individuals after assaulting them.
Since October 7, Israeli occupation forces have been barring farmers from accessing their lands in several areas around the town.
