RAMALLAH, Thursday, June 6, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has welcomed Spain's announcement to join South Africa's genocide case brought forward against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
In a statement issued this evening, the ministry affirmed that this decision reflects Spain's steadfast commitment to justice and the rule of international law, while also emphasizing the deep solidarity and historical friendship between the two countries.
The ministry called on all parties to the Genocide Convention to join the legal proceedings in the case, stating that "ending the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people and holding Israel to account are responsibilities that we must collectively uphold for the sake of humanity and the law."
