RAMALLAH, Monday, June 3, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces overnight and Monday detained 20 Palestinians in large-scale arrest campaigns across the occupied West Bank, according to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS).
They said in a joint statment that the total number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank has risen to over 9,000 since October 7, 2023. This figure includes individuals apprehended from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under duress, and those taken hostage.
The detention operations were accompanied by widespread sabotage, destruction of Palestinian civilians’ homes, field executions, direct shooting in addition to severe beatings, field investigation and the use of civilians as human shields.
These statistics cover both those who remain in detention and those who have been subsequently released.
