PRCS: The death toll among PRCS paramedics and crews climbs to 33

RAMALLAH, Saturday, June 1, 2024 (WAFA) – The death toll among the paramedics and crews of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 33, the PRCS announced on Saturday.

PRCS said that the death toll among its paramedics and personnel as a result of the ongoing Israeli genocidal aggression on the Strip reached 33, including 19 who were killed while performing their duty.

Two days ago, PRCS crews managed to retrieve the bodies of two paramedics from under the rubble of residential buildings targeted in the Tal as-Sultan neighbourhood, west of Rafah.

Meanwhile, media sources reported that Israeli quadcopter drones opened fire at people at the Tal as-Sultan, leading to a number of casualties.

This came as Israeli bombardment targeted a residential complex in az-Zuhour neighbourhood, north of Rafah, resulting in a number of casualties.

Tried before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 36,379 Palestinians and injuring over 82,407 others.

Moreover, approximately 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
