JENIN, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces continue the assault against the city and camp of Jenin, for the second day in a row.
WAFA correspondent said that a young man from Jenin camp was injured on Wednesday by a bullet in the pelvic area, bringing the number of injuries since yesterday to more than 20, including serious injuries.
The director of the Martyr Khalil Suleiman Hospital, Wissam Bakr, said that there is an acute water shortage after the water line connecting to the hospital was destroyed, while the Israeli forces continue to fire at its entrance.
The occupation forces pushed more military reinforcements into several neighborhoods in the city and inside the camp as drones flew intensively in the skies of the city and the camp.
Today's morning, the occupation forces carried out raids and search campaigns that affected dozens of homes in the neighborhoods of the camp, detained a number of citizens, assaulted and abused them, tampered with the contents of their homes, wreaked havoc and destruction on them, and subjected a number of young men to field investigation.
The operations to destroy the infrastructure caused a power outage in communications and the Internet for large areas in the city and the camp.
Jenin Governmental Hospital is still besieged, with snipers deployed in places close to the hospital, causing a major shortage of medical supplies, sources confirmed.
The Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Jenin and its camp since the early morning hours yesterday, and were stationed in the streets of Haifa, Nablus, and Burqin Road, accompanied by special undercover units, sparking confrontations, which took place in the vicinity of Jenin camp and Wadi Burqin.
The occupation forces continued causing damages to the infrastructure, including streets, vegetable stands, commercial shacks, and citizens’ property, especially vehicles.
Yesterday, the occupation bulldozers destroyed the “Martyr George Habash” roundabout in the vicinity of the city center, and the “Martyr Omar Al-Nayef” roundabout, and turned dozens of homes in Jenin's neighborhoods and the camp to military points, amid violent confrontations, with the sound of huge explosions being heard.
The occupation forces killed in cold blood eight people, including general surgery specialist at Jenin Hospital, Ousaid Jabareen, 51, who was targeted in the vicinity of the hospital, teacher Allam Jaradat, 48, who was heading to work at Walid Abu Muwais Basic School for Boys. Mahmoud Amjad Hamadna, 15, a student of the ninth grade of Al Karama Second Basic Boys School, Muammar Muhammad Deeb Abu Amira, 50, Amir Issam Muhammad Abu Amira, 22, Osama Mohammad Naeem Hujair, and Bassem Mahmoud Saleh Turkman, and Jihad Mohammad Talib, 38.
