Premier Mustafa discusses coordination of relief efforts with Saudi FM

RIYADH, Thursday, May 9, 2024 (WAFA) – Premier Mohammad Mustafa today discussed the coordination of relief efforts with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During their meeting in Riyadh, both officials discussed fostering relief efforts undertaken to address the aggravating humanitarian disaster in the blockaded Gaza Strip and coordinating efforts among all parties aimed at securing the entry of relief aid to all parts of the Strip and meeting the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people in the Strip.

Premier Mustafa briefed the top Saudi Arabian diplomat on the latest developments on the ground in the West Bank, with particular focus on the uptick in Israeli army and colonist attacks against Palestinians, daily incursions, detention raids and extrajudicial killings and destruction of property and infrastructure in refugee camps.

He also briefed Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister on the worsening financial crisis gripping the Palestinian government, particularly since given Israeli illegal deductions from the Palestinian tax revenues and the deteriorating economic situation as a result of the Israeli occupation aggression and measures.

He also familiarized him on the government’s efforts aimed at implementing the institutional reform program, with focus on the steps and plans implemented in this regard on the medium and long run, and fostering partnerships with CSOs.

He expressed appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its longstanding historic positions in support of the Palestinian Question and the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights in international fora.
