RAMALLAH, Monday, May 6, 2024 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas tonight welcomed the announcement of successful Egyptian-Qatari efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The president expressed satisfaction with this agreement which has been a priority for the Palestinian leadership since the first day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, expressing hope that Israel will commit to ending the aggression and its full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
President Abbas called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel to compel it to abide by this agreement.
He also called on the international community to continue efforts aimed at ending the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine.
