PM Mustafa calls for holding donor conference to support gov’t programs

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 24, 2024 (WAFA) - Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammed Mustafa, stressed today the necessity of holding a donor conference to support the plans and programs of the new Palestinian government.

He also stressed the need to arrange a meeting with the European Union foreign ministers soon, to inform the European ministers of the latest developments in Palestine, the Palestinian government’s work programs, and its priorities in promoting relief and implementation of institutional reform plans.

During a phone call with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, the Prime Minister appreciated Spain’s efforts with other countries to recognize the State of Palestine and support full membership in the United Nations.

Mustafa thanked Spain for its steadfast support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA) and for providing emergency relief aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the need to work with all international parties to stop the occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people, and determine a road map to address all political issues, end the Israeli occupation, and realize the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Prime Minister warned of Israeli plans and threats to invade Rafah, and the already worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

Sanchez congratulated Mustafa on the formation of the new Palestinian government and the start of its duties, stressing his country’s joint coordination with many countries to recognize the State of Palestine and obtain full membership in the United Nations, in addition to providing humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people.
