RAMALLAH, Sunday, April 7, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces have conducted a series of arrests across the West Bank since yesterday evening, detaining at least 15 individuals, including two young women, in addition to a child and former prisoners.
In a joint statement, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) and the Prisoners Affairs Authority stated that the arrests were carried out in various governorates of the West Bank, including Hebron, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Jenin.
Among the detainees were the two young women Layan Nasser and Layan Kayed, both of whom are former prisoners in Israeli jails. The two were detained from their homes in Ramallah province.
The statement further detailed that the Israeli occupation forces continue to implement widespread raid and arrest campaigns accompanied by brutal beatings, threats against detainees and their families, direct shooting with the intent to kill, as well as extensive destruction and sabotage of citizens' homes.
The number of Palestinians arrested since October 7th has risen to approximately 8100, including those apprehended from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and hostages, the statement added.
