Prime Minister: Relief and ceasefire for Gaza are government's priorities in international engagements

RAMALLAH, Thursday, April 4, 2024 (WAFA) – Over the past week, Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa has held numerous meetings with international delegations and conducted multiple communications at the international level, aiming to press for an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and to halt all Israeli restrictions on movement in the West Bank.

Mustafa emphasized during his meetings and communications the necessity to pressure Israel to release the Palestinian tax funds—currently withheld by the former—and to stop all illegal deductions. Additionally, he urged financial support for the government to assist it in fulfilling its obligations, achieving economic stability, and meeting the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

In recent days, Mustafa met with the German Foreign Minister, the French Consul General in Jerusalem, the Special Coordinator for the United Nations Peace Process in the Middle East, the Head of the American Office for Palestinian Affairs, and the Director of the United States Agency for International Development Mission.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister received several telephone calls and telegrams from the Saudi Foreign Minister, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, the Lebanese Foreign Minister, the Moroccan Foreign Minister, the Russian Prime Minister, the Norwegian Prime Minister, the Chinese Prime Minister, the Japanese Foreign Minister, the Tunisian Prime Minister, the Egyptian Prime Minister, the Jordanian Prime Minister, the Bahraini Foreign Minister, and the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.

All of these engagements are geared towards coordinating efforts to provide relief for Gaza and garner support for the Palestinian government.
