RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 (WAFA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education today condemned the Israeli occupation’s destruction of the Palestine University buildings in the university’s main campus in the Gaza Strip, as part of the occupation’s ongoing genocidal war against the Strip.

In a statement, the Ministry said the destruction of the University of Palestine and the previous destruction of other higher education institutions come as part of the occupation's systematic criminal policy that aims to destroy the basics of life in the Gaza Strip, in order to expel and displace Palestinians.

The Ministry called on all human rights, humanitarian and media institutions and the free people in the world to assume their responsibilities to stop the occupation’s crimes that have been continuing for months in the Gaza Strip, which included the destruction of several higher education institutions and the killing of hundreds of their students and workers.

It added that the occupation continues its crimes and violations of all international laws, conventions and norms that protect educational and academic institutions, stressing that these crimes would not have continued if it were not for the absolute international silence.

The Ministry affirmed that higher education institutions will advance and continue their mission despite the occupation’s violations and crimes.
