GAZA, Saturday, February 17, 2024 (WAFA) – The death toll among Palestinian civilians resulting from the indiscriminate Israeli airstrikes earlier today on central Gaza has risen to 40, with dozens more feared killed under the rubble, according to local sources.
The sources reported an increase in the number of casualties to 40 after Israeli fighter jets bombarded around ten residential homes in the town of Al-Zawaida and the city of Deir Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. Further, several individuals are believed trapped under the rubble in the aftermath of the attack.
Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike on the Al-Sikka Street in the city of Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip, and another in the eastern part of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
In a preliminary toll, the ongoing Israeli genocide campaign on Gaza has resulted in the tragic murder of at least 28,858 people, with the majority being women and children. In addition, 68,677 others have been injured, while initial estimates suggest as high as 8,000 Palestinians are unaccounted for.
