EU says it expects full, immediate and effective implementation of ICJ decision in South Africa case against Israel

BRUSSELS, Friday, January 26, 2024 (WAFA) – Following the landmark decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in South Africa’s ‘Genocide Case’ against Israel, the EU High Representative and the European Commission said: “Orders of the International Court of Justice are binding on the Parties and they must comply with them." The EU expected their full, immediate and effective implementation.

“The EU reaffirmed its continuing support to the International Court of Justice; the principal judicial organ of the United Nations,” said the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and the European Commission in a joint statement.
