Telecommunications and mobile network companies announce partial return of services in different parts of Gaza

GAZA, Friday, January 19, 2024 (WAFA) - The Palestine Telecommunications Company, Paltel Group, announced tonight the gradual return of communications services in different parts of the besieged Gaza Strip following over a week-long complete interruption due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.

“We would like to announce the gradual restoration of communication services in various areas of Gaza Strip,” said Paltel in a post on X, Twitter's rebranded identity.

According to the post, two of the company’s employees were killed in the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza. The post read: “Regrettably, two of our technical team members lost their lives during the recent repair operation as a result of direct shelling.”

This brings the total number of the employees who were killed to 14 since the beginning of the aggression, said the post.

The company explained that despite the gravity and difficulty of the circumstances, its crews succeeded in restoring basic services to users, as per usual.

Ooredoo, one of the two mobile network operators in the West Bank, also announced the partial return of its services.
