RAMALLAH, Wednesday, January 9, 2024 (WAFA) - The Ministry of Labor, represented by the Palestinian Fund for Employment and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, signed a cooperation agreement worth $2.4 million for the provision of emergency aid, including basic needs, for Gaza workers who were forcibly expelled by the occupation from their workplaces in the 48 lands and were unable to return to Gaza.
The Ministry, in a press release on Tuesday, said under the agreement, the payments will be distributed over three months as emergency assistance to workers from Gaza.
Workers from Gaza were forcibly removed from their workplaces in Israel after being beaten and abused by Israeli occupation forces and then displaced to the West Bank, in addition to the detention of a large number of them.
The Palestinian government formed an emergency committee since the start of the aggression on Gaza to receive the workers, provide housing for them in various governorates, and provide them with the necessary needs.
