JERUSALEM, Monday, November 6, 2023 (WAFA) – Al Mayadeen TV correspondent in Jerusalem, Hanaa Mahameed, was today ambushed, harassed and threatened by an Israeli journalist.

Mahameed said that an Israeli Channel 12 TV correspondent and a group of other Israelis lured her to believe that there was a parcel waiting for her at a post office and when she went there to get it, she realized that it was an ambush in an attempt to harass her for the Israeli TV.

Mahameed told Al Mayadeen that she was pursued by the journalist and other Israelis who harassed her when she realized that she was trapped and attempted to prevent her from getting into her car while making explicit threats against her.

She emphasized that this attack is part of a systematic Israeli policy aimed at intimidating and silencing every Palestinian, highlighting the Israeli establishment's efforts to suppress any narrative that opposes its own, noting that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, she has been the target of an Israeli campaign of incitement on various levels.

“The Israeli media behave as if they are a military force fully endorsing their narrative without accurately representing the real events on the ground,” said Mahameed, adding that “the Israeli media have reached a significant level of degradation, reflecting the absence of values within this entity.”

Palestinian and Arab journalists and media operating in occupied Jerusalem and Israel have faced a hostile environment from Israeli journalists, people, and the military since the start of the aggression on October 7.
