HEBRON, Saturday, October 28, 2023 (WAFA) – Over 250 Palestinian residents of the village of Zanuta, located to the south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, were compelled to abandon their homes and lands today due to persistent terror attacks by Israeli settler militias, according to local sources.
These attacks have left the villagers living in fear for their children and women, especially in the wake of the recent Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people that began on the seventh of this month.
Fayez Al-Tal, the head of the Zanuta Village Council, explained to WAFA that these the village's residents were forced to leave their homes because of the nonstop terror attacks by Israeli army-guarded settler militias. These attacks have intensified the suffering and fear endured by the villagers.
Residents of Zanuta have long been subject to harassment and aggression by settlers under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces. Their homes and tents have been demolished, their trees uprooted, and part of their land has been designated for industrial and religious institutions for Israeli settlers, posing a threat of further colonization expansion on their lands and properties.
Terror attacks by Israeli settler militias are a common feature of the daily life under colonial settler occupation, but have seen exponential growth in recent months with the rise of ultranationalist fascism in Israel's government coalition.
