RAMALLAH, Saturday, October 28, 2023 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces today detained at least 25 Palestinians in raids at their homes across the West Bank, bringing the total detained to 1555 since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, according to prisoners’ advocacy groups.
The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said that Israel’s detentions were only 25 people today, the lowest number since October 7. They said the occupation forces detained 1555 people in the West Bank since October 7 taken at their homes, at checkpoints, and those who turned themselves in after the army held their parents or members of their families as hostages.
Among the 25 detained today was the journalist Sojoud Assi to force her husband Mohammad Badr, also a journalist, to turn himself in.
Most of the detentions today also happened in Jalazone refugee camp, near Ramallah, where a house of a detainee was demolished on allegation of construction without a permit.
