THE HAGUE, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 (WAFA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riad Malki today submitted the second written response of the State of Palestine to the Registry of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague on the date specified by the Court on the nature of the long-term colonial occupation and the duties of states regarding ways to deal with this illegal occupation.
Malki stressed the importance of the legal process and accountability, especially in these times in which Israel, the illegal occupying power, is violating all the rules of international law.
He revealed that the State of Palestine had received the Court’s memorandum regarding the date for the start of the oral arguments on February 19 and that the State of Palestine is ready to appear before the court on the specified date.
Malki called on member states of the United Nations to appear before the ICJ and express their intentions to present oral arguments before the Court, considered the most important international judicial body.
