NABLUS, Saturday, October 21, 2023 (WAFA) - The Israeli occupation forces and colonist settlers today prevented Palestinians from harvesting their olive crops in the north of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Soldiers forced olive pickers to leave their lands located near a bypass road in the vicinity of the villages of Burin and Duma, south of Nablus, and prevented them from picking the olives, said local sources.

In the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, soldiers prevented olive pickers from continuing in the harvest and ordered them to leave their lands located near the illegal settlement of Shavi Shomron, according to the town’s mayor Mohammad Azem.

Meanwhile, Israeli colonist settlers, from the illegal settlement of Yakir, attacked olive pickers in the town Deri Istya, north of Salfit, beating a landowner harvesting his olive crops and forcing him and others under gunpoint to leave their lands.

The olive harvest season is one of the most important seasons for thousands of Palestinian families, many of whom make their living from this harvest.
