HEBRON, Saturday, September 16, 2023 (WAFA) – A young Palestinian man was wounded this evening in a stabbing attack by army-guarded Israeli settlers on Palestinian civilians and their homes in the Tel Rumeida neighborhood, located in the heart of the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.
WAFA correspondent said a group of Israeli settlers, heavily guarded by Israeli occupation forces, assaulted Abdullah Ragheb Abu Eisha, a local Palestinian resident, stabbing him in the back. The attack left him with moderate injuries, and he received immediate medical treatment at the scene.
In addition to the brutal attack on Abu Eisha, several settlers pelted Palestinian residents and their homes with stones and empty bottles, shattering multiple windows in the homes attacked in the neighborhood.
The Tel Rumeida neighborhood has long been suffering for years due to the presence of Israeli settlers who frequently engage in violent acts against the local Palestinian population.
Harassment of Palestinians by Israeli settlers in Hebron is a daily occurrence, particularly following the departure of the international monitoring team, the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH), in February 2019 after Israel refused to extend the team’s mandate.
The continued expansion of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank has been widely condemned by the international community, as it undermines the prospects for a just and lasting peace in the region.
