RAMALLAH, Monday, September 4, 2023 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies published today highlighted the decision by the Palestinian freedom fighters incarcerated in Israel for their resistance to the occupation to start a hunger strike on September 14 in protest of repressive decisions against them.
They said the decision was made after the fascist Israeli cabinet minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, decided to reduce family visits to the prisoners from once a month to once every two months, in addition to many other repressive decisions recently implemented against them.
Al-Ayyam daily said the Israel Prison Services (IPS) had decided to ignore Ben Gvir’s decisions regarding the prisoners.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida daily said the IPS transferred 120 Palestinian prisoners from Nafha prison to isolation in Ofer prison.
In other news, al-Quds daily said Jewish fanatic organizations call for large-scale storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque during the upcoming Jewish holidays.
It said settlers and soldiers attacked activists and residents of Masafer Yatta in the South Hebron Hills.
It also said the Palestinians in Israel are going to observe a general strike tomorrow in protest against the violence and crime in their societies and police inaction.
Al-Ayyam said Israel is upset at a decision by UNESCO to recognize the old city of Jericho as a world heritage site in Palestine.
It said the prime minister accepted the resignation of the minister of education.
It also quoted the Israeli organization, Ir Amim, saying that the Palestinian curriculum in Jerusalem is coming under a vicious attack.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said President Mahmoud Abbas received the Japanese economy minister.
