RAMALLAH, Monday, July 10, 2023 (WAFA) - Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh said today that Israel’s conditions for returning the Palestinian funds it has been withholding on stopping steps undertaken by the Palestinian Authority in international organizations will not happen.
Speaking at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting held in Ramallah, Shtayyeh said that what should actually be done is for Israel to stop its aggression against the Palestinian people, the killings, the settlements, and the piracy of Palestinian funds, and to return to a path that will end the occupation based on United Nations resolutions and international law.
The Prime Minister, who was reacting to the Israeli conditions for helping the Palestinian Authority to overcome its economic difficulties, stressed that the money withheld by Israel is Palestinian money “and Israel must return it to us without extortion or conditions. Our people are fully aware of the facts of the matter and reject this extortion.”
