Prime Minister Shtayyeh arrives in Cairo for three-day official visit

CAIRO, Monday, May 29, 2023 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh Monday evening arrived in Cairo for a three-day official visit.

Prime Minister Shtayyeh is heading a high-level ministerial delegation on the three-day visit to Cairo at the invitation of his Egyptian counterpart Mustafa Madbouly.

He was received at Cairo International Airport by his counterpart, Madbouly, as well as by a host of Egyptian ministers, Palestine’s ambassador to Egypt Diab Al Louh and counselors of the embassy.

Both Shtayyeh and Madbouly reviewed the honour guard during a welcoming ceremony as the Palestinian and Egyptian national anthems were played on the first day of the visit.

As part of the agenda of the visit, the Palestinian ministers will have bilateral meetings with their Egyptian counterparts to discuss the ways to set in motion the Palestinian-Egyptian Higher Joint Committee to foster cooperation and sign protocols and memoranda of cooperation between both countries in various sectors.

Palestinian ambassador to Cairo Al Louh considered that nine ministers are among the members of the visiting delegation indicates Palestine’s keenness to build bridges of political and executive cooperation between both countries as per the instructions of President Mahmoud Abbas regarding the need to develop a distinct relationship and maintain coordination with Egypt for the optimization of benefit and the sharing of experience in different fields.

 

The delegation comprises Foreign Affairs & Expatriates Minister Riad Malki, Interior Minister General Ziad Hab al-Reeh, National Economy Minister Khaled al-Esseily, Agriculture Minister Riyad al-Atari, Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh, Higher Education & Scientific Research Minister Mahmoud Abu Mwais, Public Works & Housing Minister Mohammad Ziara, Transport Minister Assem Salem, Religious Endowments & Affairs Minister Hatem al-Bakri.

It also comprises Chairman of the Palestinian Energy & Natural Resources Authority Zafer Milhem, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Amjad Ghanem, Government Spokesperson Ibrahim Milhem, in addition to a number of businessmen.
