RAMALLAH, Thursday, September 29, 2022 (WAFA) – News about the Palestinians killed by Israeli forces during a military raid into the occupied West Bank city of Jenin and the Jenin refugee camp hit the front pages of the three Arabic Palestinian dailies on Thursday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida, al-Quds and al-Ayyam said that four Palestinians were killed and 44 others were injured Wednesday morning, many of them critical, in an Israeli army assault on Jenin refugee camp, according to the Ministry of Health and Palestinian security.
The dailies said that the Ministry of Health confirmed four Palestinians were killed, and identified three of them as Abed Fathi Hazem, the brother of Raad who was killed by Israeli forces in April following an attack in Tel Aviv, and Mohammad Mahmoud Elwaneh, who were killed in a house that was under siege and shelled by the army, and a third, Ahmad Nathmi Alawneh, 24, was shot in the head and killed during street clashes with the invading soldiers. The fourth was identified as Mohammad Abu Naaseh.
They added that a large army force raided Jenin and its refugee camp, firing in all directions and shooting tear gas canisters while surrounding and shelling a house that belongs to Fathi Hazem, father of Raad and Abed.
A general commercial strike was called in most West Bank cities in mourning of the dead and in protest against the Israeli carnage in Jenin this morning.
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported a statement by Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh following the Israeli army killing of the four Palestinians and wounding of 44 others.
He stated that the Israeli occupation continues to exhibit a total disregard for the lives of Palestinians and undermines regional security and stability, adding that this grave escalation would neither grant Israel legitimacy nor security, whether at the holy sites in Jerusalem, Jenin, or any other part of the occupied territories.
Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh stated that Palestinian blood has become a ticket in the upcoming Israeli elections, as reported in al-Hayat al-Jadida.
Commenting on the killing of the four Palestinians and wounding of 44 others by Israeli military gunfire in Jenin, Shtayyeh, in a statement, held the Israeli occupation authorities liable for the repercussions of this crime, explaining that the blood of Palestinians is being used to prepare Israel’s electoral campaign in a time when the world is preoccupied with other international crises.
The dailies said that Israeli forces attacked Palestinians rallying across multiple West Bank areas in condemnation of the Israeli army’s crackdown on Jenin, which left four Palestinians killed and dozens of others injured, including many seriously. Palestinians rallied today at points of friction across multiple West Bank areas to condemn the Israeli army’s carnage in Jenin.
According to the papers, 21 Palestinians were injured during an Israeli settlers' attack on Palestinian citizens and their homes in the village of Madama, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.
They said that eight Palestinians were injured after they were beaten by Israeli settlers in plain sight of Israeli soldiers who provided settlers with protection. Thirteen others suffered from suffocation due to inhaling toxic gas fired at them by the Israeli forces. Three Palestinians, including a minor, were detained by the army forces.
