At least 24 Palestinians were rounded up by Israeli occupation forces in West Bank raids

RAMALLAH, Monday, August 15, 2022 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces today and last night detained at least 24 Palestinians in multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, according to local and Palestinian security sources.

They said that Israeli forces rounded up nine Palestinians and ransacked a number of houses in Deir Abu Mashal village, northwest of Ramallah.

The soldiers arrested a former prisoner after breaking into and searching his house in Birzeit town, north of Ramallah.

In the Jerusalem district, a military force detained a Palestinian during a raid of al-Ram town, north of the city, and two others in Hizma and al-Judeira, east and northwest of Jerusalem.

In the southern West Bank, a convoy of military vehicles stormed Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem, where the soldiers rounded up five residents, including two teenagers aged 16 and 17.

Heavily-armed soldiers and special forces stormed Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem city, and detained two others.

In the northern West Bank, the sources confirmed a raid in Asira al-Shamaliya town, north of Nablus, resulting in the detention of another.

Other raids were confirmed in Silat ad-Dhahr town and Zububa village, southwest and northwest of Jenin city respectively, leading to the arrest of two former prisoners.

On Sunday evening, undercover Israeli forces broke into a house in al-Bireh city neighborhood of Um al-Sharayet, and detained a student enrolled in Birzeit University.

Soldiers also brutally assaulted and detained another from the old city of Hebron.
