JERUSALEM, Sunday, August 14, 2022 (WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinian citizens were arrested last night in an Israeli police raid on the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan, while many others were subjected to field interrogation by Israeli intelligence officers, according to local and media sources.
The Silwan-based Wadi Hilweh Information Center said Israeli police and Border Guards Police forces shut down the entrances to the neighborhood, denying entry and exit of local residents before embarking on an arrest campaign in which many residents were arrested, including a woman, Asmaa Sharabati, her daughter and her three sons.
Many of the local residents were also subjected to field interrogation for several hours by intelligence officers, who also raided and searched many homes in the neighborhood and questioned their residents, the Center added.
Meantime in the occupied West Bank province of Hebron, four Palestinians were reportedly arrested in Israeli raids on Baladiyat al-Khalil neighborhood and the town of Idna, according to Palestinian security sources.
