RAMALLAH, Tuesday, March 22, 2022 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh discussed today with a delegation of executive directors of the World Bank ways to raise the level of support for Palestine and development projects.
During a meeting in Ramallah with the delegation, chaired by the Dean of the World Bank Board of Executive Directors, Mirza Hassan, Shtayyeh valued the support of the World Bank and its efforts to support building the state institutions, in addition to supporting the development and vital projects.
He highlighted the importance of the World Banks’ endeavors to support projects that contribute to creating job opportunities to reduce unemployment, especially among university graduates.
The Prime Minister reviewed the efforts exerted to prepare the administrative and financial reform agenda in many sectors.
He stressed that these efforts must be accompanied by serious international pressure on Israel to stop the unjust Israeli deductions from Palestinian funds, release the withheld money, and resume international support for Palestine, which would contribute to ending the ongoing financial crisis.
Shtayyeh pointed out that improving economic and living conditions requires a political horizon and solution to make them more effective.
