TULKARM, Thursday, December 16, 2021- The Israeli authorities today notified the
villagers of Shufa, southeast of Tulkarm
city, of their plan to seize a tract of their land, according to local sources.
Fatah activist, Murad Droubi, told WAFA that Israeli forces handed the villagers
notices to take over some 11 dunums of the village
lands located in Khallet al-Mila, al-Arqoub and Abu Al-Aqra area.
He slammed the notifications as part of the ongoing takeover of
the villagers’ lands in favor of expanding the illegal colonial settlement of Avni Hefetz.
In July 2020, the occupation authorities seized three and a half dunums from the villagers’ lands. In 2019, the authorities
announced a new detailed master plan involving the construction of a settlement
industrial zone on an area of 788 dunums of lands
belonging to the villages of Jbara and Shufa.
