RAMALLAH, Monday, November 08, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday overnight detained at least nine Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and sources.
They said that Israeli forces rounded up two Palestinians from Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah city, and two others from Beitunia city, west of Ramallah.
The soldiers also detained another after breaking into and searching his house in Silwad town, northeast of the city.
They conducted a similar raid in Rantis town, west of the city, resulting in re-arresting a former prisoner.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli military vehicles stormed the eastern neighborhood of Tulkarm city, where the soldiers re-arrested a former prisoner.
In the southern West Bank, the soldiers barged their way into Jannatah town, south of Bethlehem, where they rounded up another.
In Jerusalem district, the sources confirmed a similar raid in Beit Anan town, northwest of the city, resulting in re-arresting a former prisoner.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
