PM Shtayyeh urges UN to fulfill its duty and put an end to Israeli policies

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 05, 2021 (WAFA) - Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh today stressed the importance of following up on the report by the international human rights organizationi which documented the Israeli policies of apartheid and persecution against Palestinians stressing the need for the United Nations and international organizations to fulfill their duty and put an end to Israeli policies and compel Israel to pay the price of its crimes in the occupied territories  

This came during a meeting with Lynn Hastings, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, in Shtayyeh's office in Ramallah where they discussed the projects of the United Nations humanitarian institutions in the Gaza Strip and the strengthening of cooperation.

They discussed the National Development Plan, calling on the UN official to align the plans of the United Nations institutions with the national plans.

Shtayyeh further urged the UN and its institutions to exert pressure on Israel to allow the holding of  Palestinian legislative elections in Jerusalem.

They also discussed the Covid-19 vaccinations file and briefed the UN official on the mechanisms for distributing it according to priorities.
