RAMALLAH, March 29, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestine today received 100,000 doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine donated by China, according to Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh.
The batch of 100,000 Sinopharm doses were delivered in the presence of Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh and Chinese ambassador to Palestine Guo Wei.
“These vaccines would largely contribute to the acceleration of the community vaccination rollout in Palestine,” al-Kaileh said.
She thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Palestinian ambassador to China Fariz Mehdawi in addition to the Chinese government and people for their “generous support” as well the World Health Organization (WHO) for facilitating the delivery of the shipment.
She pointed that a committee comprising the civil society organizations (CSOs), the private sector, the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) and WHO has been established to follow-up on the distribution of the vaccine to the targeted groups.
