RAMALLAH, Sunday, March 28, 2021 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced today that 1714 new COVID-19 infections and 24 deaths were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.
In her daily report on the COVID-19 pandemic in Palestine, the health minister she 23 deaths from coronavirus were registered in the West Bank, and one in the Gaza Strip. She said no updates were available regarding the situation in occupied Jerusalem.
Of the total infections registered, 857 cases were in the West Bank, including 217 in the northern West Bank province in Nablus alone, followed by Jenin (179), Hebron (109), and Ramallah (100). A similar number of infections (857) was also registered in the Gaza Strip.
No updates were available regarding new infections Jerusalem, which reports once every two or three days.
Meanwhile, the West Bank had 1541 recoveries, while the Gaza Strip recorded 123 cases.
The health minister said 207 patients of coronavirus remain under intensive care, while 63 others are on ventilators.
Alkaila pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far stood at 89.6 percent, while active cases topped 9.3 percent. Deaths stood at 1.1 percent of total infections.
Concerning vaccinations, the health minister said 65,098 people have received their first jab of the vaccine in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, of whom 7,048 received the second dose.
