Palestine records 2247 new coronavirus cases, 21 deaths

RAMALLAH, Sunday, March 21, 2021 (WAFA) – Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 2247 new COVID-19 cases, 21 deaths, and 1753 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.

The West Bank had 1940 new coronavirus cases, 17 deaths, and 1607 recoveries, while the Gaza Strip had 307 new cases, four deaths, and 146 recoveries.

In the West Bank, the province of Hebron registered the highest number of cases (493), followed by Nablus (402), and Ramallah (257).

No updates were available regarding the situation in occupied Jerusalem, which reports once every two or three days.

Alkaila said 198 COVID-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, of whom 60 are on ventilators.

She pointed out that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 89.3 percent, while active cases scored 9.6 percent. Deaths stood at 1.1 percent of total infections.
