RAMALLAH, Saturday, March 20, 2021 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Elections Commission (CEC) began today and until the end of the month receiving nomination applications for the 2021 legislative elections scheduled for May 22 and electoral lists have been asked to submit the names of their candidates to the CEC headquarters in Ramallah and Gaza.

The CEC said in a press statement that only electoral lists of candidates will be accepted and not individuals, as stipulated in the recently amended elections law, and that an electoral list should have no less than 16 names of candidates or more than 132, which is the number of seats of the Palestinian parliament.

The CEC is going to study each electoral list and the eligibility of its candidates and will give its answers within five days of the submission of the nomination application.
